Uzbek Delegation from Samarkand State Architecture and Construction University Visits BUCEA and Jointly Launches China-Uzbekistan Academic Exchange Week

A delegation of six from Samarkand State Architecture and Construction University, Uzbekistan led by Vice Rector Abror GADAEV visited Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA) on December 16. The two sides reached a consensus to collaborate in areas such as academic exchanges, teaching and research, joint development of disciplines, and textbook publication. Jointly, the two universities will cultivate outstanding talents from both China and Uzbekistan in architecture and civil engineering, and promote the development of these disciplines and technological innovation. BUCEA Vice President Chen Zhaohui, and heads of relevant departments and schools attended the meeting.

Chen Zhaohui warmly welcomed Abror GADAEV and his delegation. She mentioned that the consensus reached by the heads of the two countries has provided historical opportunities for the cooperation between the two universities. BUCEA is ready to work with Samarkand State Architecture and Construction University to jointly establish a base for international talent cultivation and practices, create a regular communication and exchange mechanism, and share experience in engineering education. She also stated that, taking the China-Uzbekistan Academic Exchange Week as an opportunity, both sides would further strengthen faculty and student exchanges, as well as research collaboration.

Abror GADAEV expressed his gratitude to BUCEA for the meticulous arrangement and warm reception. He conveyed the greetings of Rector Cigdem C. Turkyilmaz, and invited BUCEA to visit Samarkand and jointly carry out a series of educational and academic exchange activities for the 60th anniversary of SamSACU. Abror GADAEV proposed to take this China-Uzbekistan Academic Exchange Week as a beginning, build a research team focusing on environmental engineering and civil engineering, and jointly train academic talents to produce rich research outcomes. By jointly promoting high-quality integrated development, he hopes to enhance the influence of the two universities on the international stage.

After the discussion, the China-Uzbekistan Academic Exchange Week jointly organized by the two universities was officially launched, and the members of the delegation would carry out exchanges and discussions in BUCEA schools for a week.
