Please note the following matters!


Passport

1. Should carry your passport with you at all times and keep it safe.

2. Comply with police inspections.

3. If you discover that your passport is lost, you should go to the local police station or the entry-exit administration department of the sub-bureau to obtain a passport loss certificate. Then, proceed to your country's embassy or consulate to apply for a new passport, and finally, go to the entry-exit administration department to reapply for a visa.

Registration of Temporary Residence

For foreigners who reside or stay in domiciles other than hotels, they or the persons who accommodate them shall, within 24 hours after arrival, go through the registration formalities with the local police station in the places of residence. Alternatively, they can independently submit their registration through the online accommodation registration system.

Visa

1. Common passport with X1 visa or X2 visa is for foreign students studying in China.

2. For X1 visa holders shall, within 30 days from the date of their entry, apply for study residence permits in entry-exit administration department.

3. Apply for the remark for off-campus internship on study residence permits:

1) Certification letter (in Chinese) on approval of the off-campus internship by the college that the applicant is current studying in, stating that the internship is part of the teaching program, as well as the full name of the organization or enterprise for internship, term of internship and specific content. 

2) Certification letter (in Chinese) on receiving the applicant in internship or contract of internship, stating the personal information of the International Students receiving the internship, name of the college that the applicant is current studying in, term of internship and specific content.

4. Apply for the endorsement for off-campus work-study program on study residence permits:

1) Certification letter (in Chinese) on approval of the off-campus work-study program by the college that the applicant is current studying in, stating the full name of the organization for work-study program, term of work, job position and specific content.

2) Certification letter (in Chinese) issued by the employer agreeing to the work-study or the agreement on work-study program, stating the basic information of the international students, name of university or college, term of work, job position and specific content.


Penalties

1. Foreigners who stay or reside in China shall not engage in activities not corresponding to the purpose of stay or residence, and shall leave China prior to the expiry of the prescribed duration of stay or residence. Otherwise, it will constitute illegal residence in China, which may result in a fine of 500 RMB per day. In serious cases, they may be detained and deported.

2. When the registered item in a foreigner's residence permit has changed, the holder shall, within 10 days from the date of the change, apply for alteration in the entry-exit administration department.

3. Foreigners who work in China shall obtain work permits and work residence permits in accordance with relevant regulations. The following acts of foreigners shall be deemed unlawful employment:

1) Work in China without obtaining work permits or work residence permits in accordance with relevant regulations;

2) Work in China beyond the scope prescribed in the work permits.


Important Reminders

1. Engaging in fights and disrupting public order is illegal and will be dealt with by the police.

2. Do not drive or make trouble after drinking.

3. The smuggling, carrying or possession of illegal drugs is a felony. Drugs refer to Opium, Heroin, Methamphetamine, Morphine, Marijuana, Nitrous Oxide, Cocaine, and other narcotic and psychotropic substances that can make people addicted.

4. UAV activities in Beijing shall comply with the Interim Regulations on the Flight Management of Unmanned Aircraft, and shall be approved according to the relevant requirements of controlled airspace.

5. Be cautious of various forms of telecommunication fraud.

6. No smoking on bed, and do not use high powered electronic devices. Raise fire awareness.
