On August 29 to 30, Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) welcomed the 2024 international students. Vice-Principal Jing Tao came to the CIE Hall to exchange views with teachers and students and he cared about the arrival situation and sympathized with the new students.

BJTU admitted 428 new students from 58 countries this year. There were 137 undergraduates, 157 master's degree students, 18 doctoral students, 81 advanced students and 35 preparatory students.

CIE arranged the welcome work in a thorough manner and set up the check-in site carefully. Students from different countries completed the process of information verification, dormitory allocation, fee payment, academic registration, insurance purchase, receiving campus card, enrollment guide, international students handbooks and so on according to the guidelines on the site.

In order to enhance the sense of belonging of international students, 55 volunteers were recruited and trained to join in the orientation work. Under the guidance of the volunteers, all the new students quickly familiarized themselves with the campus environment and went through the check-in procedures.
