Filed by the Ministry of Education and approved by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, Beijing Vocational College of Agriculture (BVCA) is a full-time regular institution of higher education. Growing from Beijing Agriculture School founded in 1958, the BVCA consists of nine departments, including Horticulture, Husbandry & Veterinary, Food and Biology and other departments. It also has two campuses: Qinghe Campus (School of Mechatronics Engineering), and Beiyuan Campus (International Education School).
The BVCA has actively carried out international exchanges and cooperation, forming long-term stable relations with 27 vocational colleges and institutions, including Voronezh State Agricultural University in Russia, DEULA Nienburg, Bucheon University in South Korea, Alor Setar Vocational College in Malaysia and Falcon Citizens Union in Mauritius. With the above institutions, the BVCA has carried out exchange programs of scientific researches led by faculties, exchanges on professional fields of study, students' overseas internship programs, student exchange programs and so on. The BVCA has co-organized higher vocational education projects in accounting, international economics and trade, and tourism management with Seneca College in Canada, and Kapi'olani Community College in the United States. The BVCA established an overseas branch in Phichit College of Agriculture and Technology. The BVCA is qualified to admit international students, and has enrolled students from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and other countries to study Chinese and receive agricultural internship training.
