Filed by the Ministry of Education and approved by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, Beijing Vocational College of Labour and Social Security (BVCLSS) is a full-time regular institution of higher education. Its administrative department is Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and its educational administrative department is Beijing Municipal Education Commission. Founded in 1985, the BVCLSS was formerly known as Beijing Labour Management Cadres Institute and Beijing Plan Labour Management Cadres Institute, and renamed as Beijing Vocational College of Labour and Social Security in 2006. The college focuses on higher vocational education, and also provides continuing education, skill training and appraisement, education of international students and other education services. It is the only higher vocational college in China that has both the training base for national highly-skilled talents and the base of continuing education for national professional and technical personnel.
