of Political Studies (CYUPS) was established in September, 1985, on the basis of the Central School of Communist Youth League of China. Since 2012, the university has been jointly run by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and the Ministry of Education.
In 2003, the CYUPS was granted the right to confer master degree. In 2018, the university was selected as the unit for the granting of doctoral degree in Beijing, and set up the master's programs of two first-level disciplines including Marxist Theory, as well as the professional master's programs of such disciplines as Social Work. At present, the CYUPS enrolls academic masters in such disciplines as Marxist Theory, Basic Principles of Marxism, Marx Sinicization Research, Ideological and Political Education, as well as professional masters in Social Work.
In 2019, it received 20 batches of delegations from 25 countries and regions for the training of foreign affairs, with the total number of trained personnel reaching 2,268. At present, there are 9 international students in the university.
