BEIJING PASS Card Procedures
BEIJING PASS is sold on a non-refundable basis. This means you can not have the cost of the card refunded after purchase, report the loss of your card or claim for a refund of the balance once it's lost. To buy a BEIJING PASS, you have to present a valid ID document (foreign passport).
The price of a standard BEIJING PASS is CNY 20.
You can top up your card at designated service counters or self-service machines at Beijing Subway, Yikatong (Beijing Municipal Administration Traffic Card) self-operated stores, or airports. You can also use an NFC-enabled smartphone to download the SilkPass App for top-up.
For top-up at a service window, the single top-up amount must be in multiples of CNY 10.
When purchasing cards through self-service equipment, there are fixed-amount top-up options available. For further top-ups, please follow the prompts on the self-service equipment to select the desired top-up amount.
When topping up through the SilkPass App, follow the steps below:
Open and log in to the SilkPass App → On the home page of the SilkPass App, click on "Tap card now" → Place the card in the NFC sensing area of the phone and wait for the system to read the card information → Click "Recharge" → Enter the top-up amount → Click "next" → Choose a payment channel and complete the payment → Wait for the system to prompt that the top-up was successful (please do not remove the card from the NFC sensing area until a successful prompt)
After topping up, the card balance should not exceed CNY 1,000.
