Description: Hongluosi was built in the fourth year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (338 AD) and is a permanent temple of the ten directions. It is the birthplace of northern Buddhism and the largest Buddhist monastery in China, enjoying a high status in the Buddhist community for over a thousand years. The last two generations of ancestors of the Pure Land Sect in China are connected to this temple, leading to the saying, "In the south, there is Putuo; in the north, there is Hongluo."

The ancient temple, surrounded by mountains and waters, is built against the majestic Hongluo Mountain to the north and the beautiful Hongluo Lake to the south. The area is shaded by ancient trees, making it a treasure land. The "Three Unique Sceneries of Hongluosi" - the Imperial Bamboo Forest, the Male and Female Ginkgo Trees, and the Wisteria Climbing Pine are famous far and wide, with millions of bamboo poles and thousands of acres of ancient pine forest surrounding the entire temple, creating a beautiful picture of "the ancient temple hidden in the green waves." The spiritual energy of the mountains and rivers has created a Buddhist garden landscape that "uniquely occupies the 'feng shui' of the land and possesses the beauty of the natural environment." The Hongluo si scenic area has formed a "one-day tour" sightseeing pattern, including the ancient temple cultural area, Guanyin Temple cultural area, Big Buddha cultural area, and the natural viewing areas of Hongluo Mountain and Qinglong Mountain, featuring the characteristics of "spring flowers, summer coolness, autumn leaves, and winter appreciation of the three friends of the cold season." Visitors can enter the ancient temple to admire the solemn Buddhist rituals, reflect on their own nature, eliminate worries, and find peace and joy, or stroll in the forest, rest under the pines, or climb high to enjoy the scenery and sing freely, fully experiencing the joy of leisure.
