On September 1, The Seventh Colourful World - Cultural Exhibition of Countries along the Belt and Road with the theme of "cultural integration, civilization co-existence, and happiness along the Silk Road" was unveiled at the No. 2 Exhibition Hall of the thematic exhibition area of Culture and Tourism Services of the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS 2022) in Shougang Park. Representatives from 28 embassies of countries along the Belt and Road and representatives of four international organizations attended the opening ceremony.

This year's Colourful World event is hosted by the Information Office of Beijing Municipality, organized by CRI Online of China Media Group and Beijing Performing & Arts Group, and supported by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality.

During the opening ceremony, Xu Hejian, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Director of the Information Office of Beijing Municipality, expressed through his speech that the theme of this year's Colourful World event is "cultural integration, civilization co-existence, and happiness along the Silk Road", hoping that people can create a better life together in this ancient yet modern, open and tolerant city of Beijing, share the development opportunities of the Belt and Road Initiative, and draw a splendid picture of "Together, We Are the Colourful World".

Fan Jianping, President of CRI Online of China Media Group, expressed in his speech that this year's event will create a bridge of people-to-people contact for countries along the Belt and Road through online and offline activities such as cultural promotion, exhibitions, cultural performances, exploring exhibitions, and e-commerce livestreaming, and build a platform that contributes to the uniquely beautiful, diversified, and harmonious world.

During the opening ceremony, Xu Hejian and Fan Jianping jointly issued certificates of attendance for representatives of the participating embassies and international organizations in China for The Seventh Colourful World - Cultural Exhibition of Countries along the Belt and Road. Xu Hejian, along with Wang Jue, General Manager of Beijing Performance & Arts Group, also presented the participating representatives with two books, namely Sketches of Classic Beijing and Xiqu in Beijing.

In the special "Glorious Silk Road" cultural sharing engagement, Analisa Low, Ambassador of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to China, Gatt Jean Paul, Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Malta in China, and Lkhanaajav Munkhtushig, Deputy Chief of Mission of Embassy of Mongolia in China, introduced the culture, tourism resources and folk customs of their respective countries to the guests and audience, thus bringing them closer to each other.
