A lantern art festival will be held in the Beijing Expo Park from January 15 to October 15, 2023. At that time, 170 groups of special lanterns created with traditional Zigong craftsmanship will be unveiled at the park, together with a lantern viewing corridor of about 3,000 meters. The Zigong lanterns, known as the "Best Lanterns in the World", will bring residents a unique sightseeing experience.

The festival, with the theme of "Golden Age - Flower Dream", will kick off on January 15, 2023. The core viewing area will be themed on the cute rabbit in the Chinese zodiacs and the flowers blooming in the Golden Age. Other options for visitors include a children's recreation area featuring anime images and amusement facilities, a dining area with regional specialties, an area showcasing the art of animal-shaped grass-carving, a "dinosaur world" and a folk culture-based interaction area.

The park's opening hours have been adjusted for the lantern festival, with entrance time for the festival starting from 17:00 everyday. The festive lanterns will be lit up between 17:00 and 22:00 in winter and between 18:00 and 23:00 in summer.
