Tourists can buy tickets on-site and through telephone reservation. There are 3 wharfs in Qianhai where you can buy tickets and take a boat, namely Lotus Market Wharf, Dream Jiangnan Wharf and Dibai Wharf; There are two wharfs in Houhai, namely Song Qingling's Former Residence Wharf and Yeya Island Wharf. The Shichahai cruise ship begins sailing in late March and stops in mid November every year, spanning spring, summer and autumn. The operating hours of the cruise ship are: 9:00 to 18:00 at daytime and 18:00 to 24:00 at night.

As Shichahai is a navigable water area with dangerous water depth and various warning signs are set up around it, the management department appeals that in order to ensure the safety of citizens and tourists, swimming fishing, and paddling are prohibited in the water area.

In addition to the night navigation of Shichahai cruise ship, the city also has the nighttime navigation on Liangma River, in Beijing Water Town, and on Yanqi Lake. These services also posses their own characteristics and beautiful scenery and are loved by tourists.
