Huifengtang is a time-honored brand that has been recognized in Beijing and throughout China for many years. It was first established in 1858 during the reign of the Xianfeng Emperor in the Qing Dynasty. After temporarily closing, it reopened in 1902 with a plaque personally inscribed by the Empress Dowager Cixi. It was one of the "Ba Da Tang" (which literally means "Eight Great Halls") in Beijing in old times and is renowned for its authentic Shandong cuisine, which includes expertly prepared grilled, braised, and stir-fried dishes.
