Since the beginning of this year's fall and winter, the northern long-tailed tit, an online celebrity known as "Little Fat Birdies" have been migrating to Beijing in large numbers, bringing excitement to bird lovers.

After the weather turned cooler this year, not only the northern long-tailed tits, a kind of winter migratory birds that live through winters in northeast China, migrated to Beijing, but also the common crossbill, Eurasian treecreeper, hawfinch, goldcrest, and red-necked thrush, have been observed recently.

These birds have been rarely seen in the city in previous years, but this winter, they have shown explosive growth. Data analysis by observers has revealed that in addition to these unusual winter migrants, the numbers of birds such as Bohemian waxwing and Japanese waxwing have also exceeded those of previous years.
