By now, among all the 21 stations of Line 22 (Pinggu Line) of the Beijing Subway, 16 stations are undergoing construction.

The construction is projected to be completed in 2025 and will shorten the commute time between Beijing Municipal Administrative Center and the central urban area to as fastest as 23 minutes, with the minimum commute time between the three northern counties under the jurisdiction of Langfang and central Beijing, that between Pinggu District and central Beijing, and that between Beijing Municipal Administrative Center and three northern counties under the jurisdiction of Langfang shortened to 32 minutes, 55 minutes and 9 minutes respectively.

Starting from Pinggu Station in Pinggu District, Line 22 stretches to approximately 81.2 kilometers, running south towards Sanhe in Hebei Province, turning west to Tongzhou District, and terminating at Dongdaqiao Station in Chaoyang District. Passengers will be able to transfer to 15 subway lines, including Line 6, Line 10 and Line 14 in the future.
