Beijing's rail transit network (excluding the Capital Airport Express and the Daxing Airport Express) adopts a distance-based time-limited fare system.

The fare system works as follows: the starting price is CNY 3 for journeys within six kilometers, CNY 4 for distances between 6 and 12 kilometers, CNY 5 for distances between 12 and 22 kilometers, and CNY 6 for distances between 22 and 32 kilometers. For trips longer than 32 kilometers, CNY 1 is added for every additional 20 kilometers. There is no maximum fare cap.

The Capital Airport Express operates as a designated airport line. Since its opening in 2008, it has followed the pricing standards set by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, with a fixed fare of CNY 25.
