Located outside the Hepingmen of Xicheng District, Liulichang Culture Street used to be the place where antique dealers gathered in the early Qing Dynasty. In the ruling period of Emperor Qianlong, it became the distributing center for antiques, calligraphy works, paintings, stone tablet rubbings and the four treasures of the study (writing brush, ink stick, ink slab and paper).
