As one of the five famous historical altars in Beijing, Ritan Park was built in 1530 and once served as the venue where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties offered sacrifices to the Sun God. Through renovation and rebuilding, it has become a classical landscape garden featuring a distinctive Chinese style.
