
The jury for the Tiantan Awards at the 16th Beijing International Film Festival has been officially announced. Seven jury members gather at China's film hub, coming together for a celebration of cinema.
Juliette Binoche (Jury President) — A legendary French actress, the first performer to achieve the Triple Crown of Best Actress at Europe's top three film festivals (Cannes, Venice, Berlin)! Known for: #ThreeColors:Blue, #TheEnglishPatient, #CertifiedCopy.
Tran Anh Hung — French-Vietnamese acclaimed director, known for: "The Scent of Green Papaya" (Cannes Film Festival Golden Camera and Youth Film Award), "The Taste of Things" (Best Director at the 76th Cannes Film Festival).
Bi Gan — Highly distinctive young Chinese director, known for "Kaili Blues" (Best New Director at the 68th Locarno Film Festival), "Long Day's Journey into Night", creating dreamlike cinematic imagery.
Gabriel Mascaro — Brazilian director, screenwriter, and visual artist, known for "Neon Bull" (Special Jury Prize in the Horizons section at the 72nd Venice Film Festival), "Divine Love", "The Blue Trail".
Simon Franglen — British composer and music producer, composer for "Avatar: The Way of Water" (World Soundtrack Award, ASCAP Top Box Office Films Award), producer of My Heart Will Go On, the theme song for "Titanic".
Zhang Xiaofei — Winner of Best Actress at the 34th China Film Golden Rooster Awards, the first post-85s actress in Chinese film history to star in films surpassing 10 billion yuan at the box office.
Zhang Yi — Known for "Impasse", "My People, My Country·The Meeting," "Operation Red Sea". His works have been showcased, shortlisted, and awarded at international film festivals including Cannes, Berlin, Venice, San Sebastian, Shanghai, and Toronto. A representative actor in Chinese cinema, acclaimed both artistically and commercially.
Seven filmmakers spanning three continents, bringing diverse perspectives to a cinematic dialogue! They will gather in Beijing to judge this year's Tiantan Awards winners. The Beijing International Film Festival will also feature a special retrospective of Juliette Binoche's works.
