On December 23, the Award Ceremony of the 4th "Beijing - A Global City" Short Video Contest was held at the China National Film Museum.
Awarding of the First Prizes
This year's contest was hosted by the Office of Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee (Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality) and organized by CRI Online, under the supervision of the Bureau of Public Information and Communication of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. The contest collected outstanding short video submissions from Beijing's citizens, foreign nationals who love and care about Beijing, and organizations based in the city. Participants were invited to capture beautiful moments and friendly stories through their lens to fully demonstrate Beijing's image as a vibrant, colorful, and amicable international metropolis.

Since its launch on April 23, the contest has received over 270 submissions from participants in over 100 countries and regions including Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Serbia and the United Kingdom.

After evaluation by a panel of expert judges, two works, "Happy Tour with MenToGo: A Ride to the Future" and "My 144-hour Transit Visa-free Experience in Beijing's Chaoyang District", won the First Prizes; five works including "I Will Definitely Return to China to Swim in the Liangma River!" won the Second Prizes; 10 works including "Wise Scholar from Italy: A Mathematician from Huairou Science City" won the Third Prizes; 20 works including "Beijing: A Vibrant Capital of Scientific and Technological Innovation" won the Excellence Awards; 10 works including "Dutch Scholar Arthur van Buitenen: A Love for Fencing and Beijing" won the Individual Awards; and three works including "How to Pay in Beijing: Your Ultimate Beijing Payment Guide" won the Contribution Awards.

As a signature event aimed at promoting Beijing's image as an international metropolis, the contest has attracted participants from over 100 countries and regions since its inception in 2021, receiving more than 900 outstanding entries to date.
The fifth edition of the contest has been scheduled for 2025 by the hosting party.
