As the Beijing Design Week Guest City, Helsinki will present sustainable and smart solutions for learning and urban development, in which design plays a major role. Under the theme of Designing Better Life Together, Helsinki brings to Beijing a wooden installation The Recipes for Happy Helsinki Home, two business seminars focusing on education and smart and sustainable city, and program for children and families.

As the Guest City, Helsinki wishes to strengthen the good relationships between the Cities of Helsinki and Beijing, and create new co-operation possibilities for the participating companies and partners.

The project is coordinated by the City of Helsinki Executive Office's Communications Department in close collaboration with the Economic Development Department.
