Beijing Design Week hosted an exhibition curated by well-known artist and architect Zhu Xiaodi on the theme of “New in old” in 2019, and accommodated one curated by Zhang Jie, Dean of School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, on the theme of “Sustainable Operations” in 2020. As a follow-up on them, in 2021,  an exhibition and summit on the theme of “City Brand” will be held with Ding Junjie, Dean of Advertising Institute, Communication University of China, as the chief curator.

The Theme Design Exhibition of Chinese Traditional Craft Revitalization 2021 is the main exhibition of intangible heritage design at the Beijing International Design Exhibition. By taking the Chinese traditional

craft and design centennium as a clue, with the theme of “Chinese Traditional Craft Revitalization”, it adheres to the goal of facing a better life, and exhibits the changes in traditional Chinese culture and lifestyle in the past century. In the new times, the traditional craft integrates with modern design, performs in-depth involvement in integrative development projects and cases in urban renewal, rural revitalization, social innovation, cultural tourism industry and other related fields, and by combining social culture and people’s livelihood progress, interprets the important value of traditional culture revitalization.
