Online Application
Required materials:
The scanned photocopies of the information pages and valid visa pages of the newborn's parents' passports or other international travel documents and the newborn's medical birth certificate. The materials can be submitted by the newborn's parents or their representatives.
Send an email: Please email all materials required to bjgacrj2024@163.com that handles the issuance of visas and other relevant documents for foreigners, which is administered by the Exit-Entry Administration Department of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau.
Wait for approval: The Exit-Entry Administration Department of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau will email the verification result within seven working days after receiving the e-mail with all the required materials. Registration will be completed online after the application is approved.
Offline Application
Required materials:
1. The original identity documents of the parents of the newborn (For foreign nationals, valid passports and visas are required);
2. The original Medical Certificate of Birth for the newborn;
3. If the application is being submitted and processed by an authorized individual,, the identity document of this individual and the authorization letter should be verified.

Processing time: Within 60 days after the newborn's birth. Applications will be processed as soon as possible after being received.

Notes:
1. For foreign infants born in China, their parents or their representatives are required to apply for a stay or residence permit within 60 days of their birth.
2. After the birth of the newborn has been registered or the newborn has obtained a valid passport or any other international travel documents, the parents must apply for a visa for the newborn in accordance with the reason for the stay.
3. Any individual who fails to complete registration of birth for a foreign national in accordance with regulations will receive a warning and may be subject to a fine of not more than CNY 2,000.
