According to the Law of the People's Republic of China on Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests, consumers have the following rights:

1. Consumers have the right not to put the safety of their persons and property in jeopardy when purchasing, using goods and receiving services.

Consumers have the right to demand that the goods and services provided by business operators meet the requirements for the protection of personal and property safety.

2. Consumers have the right to know the truth about the goods they buy, use or services they receive.

Consumers have the right to request from the business operator information about the price, origin, producer, use, performance, specifications, grade, primary components or materials, date of production or expiry, a certificate of conformity, instruction manual, after-sales service, or content, specifications, and costs of the service, and any other relevant information about the goods or services, in accordance with a variety of circumstances related to the goods or services.

3. Consumers have the right to choose goods or services without being unduly influenced.

Consumers have the right to independently choose the business operator providing goods or services, to independently choose the variety of goods or type of service, and to independently decide whether or not to purchase the goods or accept the service.

Consumers have the right to compare, identify, and select goods or services without being unduly influenced.

4. Consumers have the right to fair trade.

Consumers have the right to fair trade through quality assurance, reasonable prices, and proper measurements and the right to reject compulsory operator trading behavior when purchasing goods or receiving services.

5. Consumers who have suffered personal or property damage as a result of the purchase, use of goods, or acceptance of services have the right to receive compensation in accordance with the law.

6. Consumers have the right, in accordance with the law, to establish social organizations in defense of their legitimate rights and interests.

7. Consumers have the right to obtain knowledge concerning consumption and protection of consumer rights and interests.

Consumers shall make efforts to master the knowledge of their needed commodities or services and the skills in operation thereof, apply the commodities in a correct way and raise their consciousness of self-protection.

8. Consumers have the right to have their human dignity, national customs and habits respected and their personal information protected in accordance with the law when purchasing and using goods and receiving services.

9. Consumers have the right to monitor goods and services and the protection of consumer rights and interests.

Consumers have the right to report and sue for infringement of their rights and interests for unlawful dereliction of duty on the part of state organs and their staff in the protection of consumer rights and interests, and the right to criticize the protection of consumer rights and interests and make suggestions related thereto.
