Foreign Talents with R Visa Applying for the Work Permit for Foreigners in China

Foreign talents who have entered the country with a valid R visa and have certain employment units in China and sign employment contracts.

► One  Work Permit for Foreigners application form. 

Log in to http://fwp.safea.gov.cn/ to complete the form online, print it out, the Applicant must sign it (photocopy or fax), affix the official seal(s) of the employer or the authorized departments, and upload it to the system. 

► An employment contract or certificate of employment (including dispatch letters from transnational companies)

The applicant should provide an unaltered contract in Chinese, which the applicant  has signed and the employer affixed with their official seal. 

Note: Employment contracts and certificates of employment (including dispatch letters from transnational corporations) must include this essential content: work location, job description, wages or salary, duration of employment, position, and the seal (signature) page. A certificate of employment is applicable to personnel performing any agreement or treaty between governments or international organizations, the representatives stationed in various representative offices in China, and overseas contract service providers. Dispatch letters are applicable when the head offices of transnational corporations or regional headquarters dispatch senior management or professional technical personnel from overseas to serve in domestic subsidiaries or branch offices. Dispatch letters must be issued by the head office of the transnational corporation or the regional headquarters. If essential content is absent from any job description (including dispatch letters), additional certifying material (affixed with official seals) should be provided as a supplement. In the case that a transnational corporation's regional headquarters in China dispatch senior management or professional technical personnel from overseas to serve in domestic subsidiaries or branch offices, the dispatch letter and the employment contract signed by the regional headquarters in China should be submitted.

► One Physical examination report

A Verification Certificate of Physical Examination Records of Overseas Personnel or the Certificate of Health Examination issued by the Inspection and Quarantine Institutions of China, or the physical examination report issued by an overseas health and medical institution and accepted by the Inspection and Quarantine Institutions of China. Any health certificate must have been issued within the past six months.

► One electronic copy of the information page of the applicant's passport or other international travel documen

The applicant's passport must have at least six months' validity remaining.

5. One electronic passport-style photo of the applicant taken within the past six month

The photo must have been taken recently, with a white background, frameless, showing the applicant bareheaded and their complete facial features. The image must be clear and free of spots, flaws or ink defects. It must be made into a JPG document in the size range 40K-120k, with a resolution no lower than 354(W)x472(H) pixels but no higher than 420(W)x560(H), and in 24-bit true color. Hats or headscarves are not recommended; if the applicant has to wear these for religious reasons, ensure they do not cover the entire face.

► Visa (R) held by the Applicant

Passport (or international travel document), visa and signed information page shall be uploaded.

This application does not need to submit paper materials to the acceptance window for verification, and is processed online in the whole process.

If the application meets the conditions and standards, the foreigner's work permit to come to China shall be obtained on site with the acceptance form after the application is approved.

Audit period: 5 working days

1.The originals of all paper materials and Chinese translations shall be uploaded to the system in an electronic manner.

2. All non-Chinese certification materials submitted shall must be provided along with Chinese translations and stamped with the official seal of the employer (except for passport or international travel certificates).  The reception authority or the decision-making authority may request the employer to submit a corrected version if there is are any discrepancy discrepancies between the Chinese translation and the original.
