Commuters stepping off the subway no longer need to reach the surface for food or services. Sanyuanqiao Station on Beijing Subway Line 12 now offers a range of dining, leisure and everyday services entirely within the station itself.

This is the first project of "Jingtoupai" (京投派), a new convenience-focused commercial initiative for rail transit. The project includes around 30 specialty shops which can be reached effortlessly from the station's concourse via two underground floors and three access points. Covering about 10,000 square meters directly above the platform level, the space is being referred to as an "urban living room above rails". It now houses a café, fast-food outlets, a craft beer bar, and an artisanal bakery, with intelligent beverage robots preparing freshly brewed hot drinks. Additionally, a barber shop is already in operation, while a rock-climbing gym is due to open soon.

The "Jingtoupai" initiative is set to expand to more than 20 additional stations, including Gongyi Xiqiao Station, Capital University of Economics & Business Station, and Gaoloujin Station.
