The westward extension of Beijing Suburban Railway Sub-Center Line (S1 Line) is currently under intensive construction. Once completed, the line will serve as a vital transportation artery connecting Beijingxi (Beijing West) Railway Station to Liangxiang in Fangshan District.

According to reports, S1 Line utilizes existing railways, including the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, the Beijingxi-Liangxiang Railway, the Beijing underground cross-city railway, and the Beijing-Harbin Railway, to operate suburban trains. It is designed to bolster transportation connectivity for key development zones in southwestern Beijing, including the technology-finance innovation and transformation hub, featured cultural tourism areas, and ecological conservation zones. Spanning 31.46 kilometers across Fengtai, Shijingshan, and Fangshan and more, the extension starts at Beijingxi Railway Station, follows the Beijingxi-Liangxiang and Beijing-Guangzhou railways, and terminates at Liangxiang Railway Station. A new station, Yamenkou East Railway Station, will be built in Shijingshan District as one of the five stations for the project.

Upon completion, the line will form a fast, high-capacity, and commuter-oriented transportation corridor. During its initial phase, 18 pairs of trains will operate daily. Passengers can transfer between the branch line of Subway Line 1 and Houlücun Railway Station, and between Subway Line 11 and Yamenkou East Railway Station. The dual-station building design aims to minimize transfer distances, offering residents along the route a faster and more comfortable travel experience while injecting new momentum into regional economic growth.
