Creative handicrafts, cheese jerky toasts, almond tofu milk tea… The food and creative cultural products at Beijing Daxing International Airport have frequently gone viral, attracting many travelers to arrive early just to visit the trendy stores there. The latest data from Daxing Airport Customs shows that the number of enterprises with sanitation licenses at Daxing Airport has surpassed 500, with sales and passenger flow in the first three quarters of this year significantly up compared with the same period last year.
"Daxing Airport is huge and bustling. There are many shops here, and my friends and I bought a lot of unique Chinese products," said Mr. Kim, a tourist from South Korea, who purchased clothes, jewelry, and handicrafts with Chinese elements. They have also tasted many Chinese delicacies at the airport. "Now China has granted visa-free entry for South Koreans, and it takes only about two hours to get here, which is very convenient," he added.
At the Concourse A of Daxing Airport, food stores selling noodles, bibimbap, and other dishes line up next to each other, full of passengers who have come to enjoy food before boarding their planes. In addition, Lao She Teahouse, known for its authentic Beijing flavors, has also become a popular spot for travelers arriving at the airport.
Long-standing stores are selling well while new stores are opening quickly. This year alone, more than 60 new businesses at the airport have obtained their sanitation licenses. It is reported that Daxing Airport Customs has been optimizing the licensing process and approval services. Over 99 percent of licensing services, including those concerning sanitation licenses, allow applicants to apply online and submit digital documents. To date, more than 220 businesses have benefited from this good business environment.
