
Foreigners holding the "Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card" shall apply for replacement within one month prior to the expiration of the certificate. Where the content of the certificate alters, the holder shall apply for replacement within one month after the alteration. Where the certificate is damaged or lost, the holder shall apply for replacement or re-issuance in a timely manner.

1. Two two-inch front-facing, bareheaded, color photos taken against a white background, along with a digital copy of the photo (submitted via disk)
2. A photocopy of the valid foreign passport and "Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card" of the applicant
3. Foreigners holding the "Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card" shall apply for replacement within 1 month prior to the expiration of the certificate.
4. Where the content of the certificate alters, the holder shall apply for replacement within 1 month after the alteration.
5. Where the "Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card" is lost, an explanation of the loss written and signed by the applicant shall be provided.

1. The applicant shall sign the application form.
2. The certificates issued by the relevant foreign institutions must be authenticated by apostilles or authenticated by the Chinese embassy(-ies) or consulate(s) in the country(-ies) concerned.
3. A Chinese translation with the official stamp by the translation company is required for any material in a foreign language.
4. All the original copies shall be reviewed before the submission of photocopies. Photocopies shall be in the A4 format.
5. If the applicant needs to print his/her Chinese name on his/her Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card, he/she should clearly indicate whether to print his/her Chinese name in the "Other Matters to be Explained" column on the application form.
