
The spouse and unmarried children under the age of 18 of a special person or an employee can apply for permanent residence together with the special personnel or employee.

Application materials for the spouse:
(1) Two two-inch front-facing, bareheaded, color photos taken against a white background, along with a digital copy of the photo (submitted via disk)
(2) Photocopy of the valid foreign passport and visa of the applicant.
(3) Statement on no criminal record in foreign country.
(4) A photocopy of the physical examination certificate issued by either a health and quarantine department designated by the Chinese government, or by a foreign medical institution certified by the Chinese embassy or consulate in the concerned country (The designated exit-entry health and quarantine department in Beijing is the Beijing International Travel Health Care Center. The certificate shall be issued within six months prior to the date of the acceptance of the application.)
(5) Photocopy of the "Marriage Certificate".
(6) Photocopy of the valid foreign passport, the photocopy of the "Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card" of the special person or the employee, and the photocopy of the employment certificate. If applying together with the special person or employee, the "Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card" may not be provided.
(7) An applicant who had Chinese nationality before shall provide the photocopy of the certificate of eligibility for foreign settlement, the photocopy of the naturalization paper or the household certificate transcript, and the photocopy of the Chinese passport used for naturalization.
(8) Personal resume of the applicant (which shall include the details from 18 years old to present, with no missing gaps between years or months)
Application materials for the children:
(1) Two 2-inch front-facing, bareheaded, color photos taken against a white background, along with a digital copy of the photo (submitted in disk)
(2) A photocopy of the valid foreign passport and visa of the applicant.
(3) A photocopy of the "Medical Certificate of Birth" or "Paternity Test".
(4) A photocopy of the parents' "Marriage Certificate" (if the parents are divorced, the "Court Ruling" or "Divorce Agreement" proving that the person to be depended on has responsibility of guardianship for the applicant shall be provided).
(5) A photocopy of the identity certificates of both parents (the parent of Chinese nationality shall provide the Household Register and their ID card, and the parent of foreign nationality shall provide the valid passport and visa).
(6) When accepting the application of such applicant, the nationality of the applicant shall first be checked and confirmed according to the nationality law of China. If the child was born abroad and both or one of the parents is of Chinese nationality at the time of birth, the certificate of eligibility for foreign settlement obtained by one or both of the parents of Chinese nationality before the child was born shall be submitted.
(7) A photocopy of the valid foreign passport, "Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card" of the special person or the employee, and the photocopy of the employment certificate. If applying together with the special person or employee, the "Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card" may not be provided.

1.When a spouse submits an application, both spouses shall sign the application form. When a child submits an application, both parents shall sign the application form at the same time (if the parents are divorced, the party with guardianship responsibility for the applicant can apply).
2. If the applicant's name has changed, the proof of name change must be provided.
3. The certificates issued by the relevant foreign institutions must be authenticated by apostilles or authenticated by the Chinese embassy(-ies) or consulate(s) in the country(-ies) concerned.
4. A Chinese translation with the official stamp by the translation company is required for any material in a foreign language.
5. All the original copies shall be reviewed before the submission of photocopies. Photocopies shall be in the A4 format.
6. If the applicant needs to print his/her Chinese name on his/her Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card, he/she should clearly indicate whether to print his/her Chinese name in the "Other Matters to be Explained" column on the application form.
7. If the applicant hasn't canceled his/her Chinese household registration or Chinese resident ID card, he/she needs to cancel first.
