Good news for those planning for their road trips during holidays!

During the Tomb Sweeping holiday, small passenger cars will not be charged on toll roads (including airport expressways, toll bridges and toll tunnels) from 0:00 on April 4 to 24:00 on April 6. Normal toll operations will resume from 0:00 on April 7.

During the Labor Day holiday, small passenger cars will not be charged on toll roads (including airport expressways, toll bridges and toll tunnels) from 0:00 on May 1 to 24:00 on May 5. Normal toll operations will resume from 0:00 on May 6.

Vehicles eligible for free passage include passenger vehicles with up to seven seats  (including seven seats) and motorcycles allowed to travel on regular toll roads.

On regular toll roads, whether a vehicle can enjoy free passage is determined by the time when the vehicle passes through a toll lane of a toll station. On highways, it is determined by the time when the vehicle leaves a toll lane of a toll station.

A Special Reminder:

If you enter a highway through a manual lane, it is advised that you should not exit the highway through an ETC lane. Every driver should choose the same type of lane (i.e. the type of lane you choose to exit should be the same as the type you choose to enter) to avoid unnecessary trouble. Those whose vehicles are equipped with ETC, in particular, should follow this rule.

In particular, after you have entered a highway through a manual lane, you cannot get off the highway through an ETC lane, otherwise your car will be unable to pass through due to the lack of the entry information. In this case, the exit barrier will not be lifted, and you will have to turn back to the manual lane to exit.
