Beijing's first international convenient payment consultation service counters in the government service field were recently established at the Government Service Center of Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (also known as Beijing E-Town). Named "'E' Payment Information Desks", these counters aim to meet the payment needs of foreign nationals in multiple situations in Beijing E-Town, providing consultation and guidance on procedures of linking foreign bank cards, opening accounts on payment Apps like Alipay, Weixin Pay (WeChat Pay) and UnionPay, and using digital renminbi.

It is reported that the "E" Payment Information Desks are equipped with a multilingual service team. To help foreigners deal with intricate international payment transactions in Beijing E-Town, the service team, in collaborating with the Bureau of Commerce and Finance of Beijing E-Town, have identified foreign-related bank branches within the area.

In the Government Service Center, two "E" Payment Information Desks are available respectively at the General Information Desk on the first floor and in the International Talent Service Area, both located closely to self-service areas. Foreign nationals can utilize the one-stop services to open accounts for digital payments, obtain advice on residence-relevant issues, and exchange currency and withdraw banknotes via ATMs.

Besides, Beijing E-Town has made efforts to improve foreign nationals' consumption experiences in various life scenarios. Specifically, it has coordinated with over 300 core merchants in major business districts, such as Han's Plaza, Longfor Paradise Walk, and Libao Plaza, four-star and above hotels in the area, and eight hospitals including Beijing Tongren Hospital's E-Town Branch, Lu Daopei Hospital, and Ronghua Community Health Service Center. These entities currently accommodate the various consumption needs of foreign nationals by supporting payments with cash, mobile Apps, and overseas bank cards. These efforts make it possible for foreigners to enjoy easy consumption experiences in a variety of situations, such as dining, lodging, travel, shopping, entertainment, and healthcare.
