Yili Western Restaurant
Yili Western Restaurant recently reopened its doors to patrons. Located at No. 5, Dongjing Road, Xicheng District, it was the first Western-style fast food restaurant in Beijing.
Situated at the west end of Xirongxian Hutong in Xidan, Beijing, the first Yili Fast Food Restaurant opened on April 20, 1984. On the first day of its opening, the 150-square-meter restaurant was packed with customers, and it went on to enjoy booming business for many years.
Moscow Restaurant
With over six decades' history, Moscow Restaurant is also affectionately called "Laomo Restaurant" by local residents in Beijing. Many people knew Western cuisine from this restaurant, which was also known as one of the most elegant restaurants in Beijing.
The restaurant falls in the west of Beijing Exhibition Center. When you visit the restaurant, you must order the delicious Borsch Soup in Russian Style, a mixture of Russian beetroots and prime beef. In addition, you must not miss out on the Braised Fish with Cream Sauce, which will help you relive some of your best memories of old Beijing.
Dadi Western Restaurant
Dadi Western Restaurant, a two-storey European-style building, is famous for its delightful aroma of food cooking in its kitchen. The restaurant is carefully decorated with Western oil paintings to add to its fantastic and rich atmosphere.
In 1945, the restaurant specializing in Russian cuisine emerged on Chang'an Avenue. At the beginning of its opening, ten rooms in the two-storey restaurant were packed with costumers every day. Signature dishes of Dadi Western Restaurant include the Ham Salad, Grilled Mandarin Fish with Cream and Stewed Beef.
Beijing Zoo
Besides eye-catching animals, the Beijing Zoo also has a tea house, a coffee shop and some restaurants serving Western or Chinese delicacies.
Located in the west of the Experimental Farm of Agriculture, the coffee shop, also known as the Western tea house, was built in early 1908.
Yanchun Garden, the first Western-style restaurant run by Chinese, is situated in the Laiyuan Building of the Experimental Farm of Agriculture and it was built in 1906. Although the Laiyuan Building is disappeared from the map, the memory of its existence lives on.
