On February 21 at Guanting Reservoir, whooper swans were found foraging in the snow. Due to the recent snowfall here in Beijing, the melting ice on the reservoir froze again, forcing the first batch of migratory birds having arrived in Beijing, including common cranes, whooper swans, ruddy shelducks, and wild geese, among other species, that had just arrived in Beijing to find food in the snow. Members of the Black Leopard Wildlife Conservation Station stated that they would closely monitor the feeding conditions of migratory birds and take artificial feeding measures if necessary.
