As the red leaves gradually enter their best viewing period, Beijing has optimized several dedicated routes to Fragrant Hills Park and introduced sightseeing routes to several other travel destinations in the suburbs, making it easier for residents and visitors to enjoy these autumn views. The 2026 autumn foliage season at Fragrant Hills Park officially began on October 16 and will run until November 15. There are three public transport options to get to the park.
Fragrant Hills Park

1. Take Subway Line 10 to Bagou Station and transfer to a train on Xijiao Line, which offers a dedicated service for autumn leaf viewing and goes directly to Fragrant Hills Park.
2. Take Subway Line 4 to Xiyuan Station and transfer to Tongyou Bus Line 26 (通游专线26路) to reach Fragrant Hills Park. This helps you avoid congested areas such as Hanhe Road and others.
3. Take the newly-launched Tongyou Bus Line 40 (通游专线40路), which began operation on October 24. Take Subway Line 1 to Pingguoyuan Station and transfer to Tongyou Bus Line 40 for direct access to Fragrant Hills Park. The bus runs every 15 to 20 minutes on weekends.
In addition, eight bus lines, including Line 318 and Line 360, have increased their service frequency and added short-turn services, offering more options for passengers.
In addition to Fragrant Hills Park, the Tongyou bus lines also offer convenient access to destinations such as Pofengling, the Mutianyu Great Wall, and Laba Ditch (Labagou) Virgin Forest Park.
Pofengling

To get to Pofengling in Fangshan District, take Subway Line 14 to Qilizhuang Station and transfer to Tongyou Bus Line 41 (通游专线41路), which runs directly to the destination. The service operates on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from October 23 to November 15. Each passenger is guaranteed a seat. Advance reservations are required, and buses depart once all seats are occupied.
Mutianyu Great Wall

To visit the Mutianyu Great Wall, take Tongyou Bus Line 31 (通游专线31路) from Wangjing West Transport Hub. The route provides direct access to the destination, with services operating only on public holidays. A round-trip ticket costs 80 yuan.
Laba Ditch Virgin Forest Park

To visit Laba Ditch Virgin Forest Park, take Tongyou Bus Line 34 (通游专线34路) from Wangjing West Transport Hub. The service will operate through November 8.
All the Tongyou bus lines mentioned above require advance reservations, with seats guaranteed for all passengers. You can check schedules and fares and make reservations through the Yilu Tongxing (一路同行) app or the official channels of the Beijing Hub of Tour Dispatch (北京旅游集散中心).
