As autumn deepens and temperatures keep dropping, preparations for this winter's heating provision are well underway. Beijing Jingneng Thermal Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of Beijing Energy Holding Co., Ltd.), along with several other local heating providers, will soon begin large‑scale water‑filling and pressure testing across their service areas to help ensure safe and reliable heating throughout the coming winter and into next spring.
Many residents have already noticed pressure test notices posted in residential compounds, while others have received SMS notifications sent by heating suppliers. Water‑filling and pressure testing are essential preliminary measures for identifying potential problems in heating systems and ensuring their reliable operation. The tests help identify potential leaks around pipes, valves and joints, allowing issues to be promptly resolved.
Pressure testing will be carried out in different areas in staggered phases, with no unified fixed date for the entire city. Heating service providers will schedule tests for the residential communities they serve based on the overall progress of heating network maintenance. Notices will be posted one week in advance at the entrances to individual buildings and on community noticeboards.
Residents are advised to pay close attention to community notices, ensure that someone is at home during the scheduled testing period, and keep an eye on the state of their indoor heating facilities. Households where indoor heating pipes, radiators or valves have been modified, replaced or repaired this year should take extra care.
During the period, residents are advised to pay close attention to radiator joints, pipe connections and valves. Any spot showing dampness or visible water seepage may indicate a leak. And remember: even minor seepage should not be ignored.
If any leakage or seepage is found during water-filling and pressure testing, close the valves immediately and use a cloth or towel to cover the leaking area. Then call the heating repair hotline listed in the community notices and request an inspection by a qualified technician.
