The 2026 Beijing Chaoyang International Light Festival–Consumption Season is now underway. From dazzling light shows to trendy markets, there's plenty to explore during this National Day holiday. Save this guide and head to Chaoyang to experience its vibrant commercial districts after dark.

Taikoo Li Sanlitun 

Dates: Through November 15

Locations: Sunken Garden in the North Zone and S1 Plaza in the South Zone of Taikoo Li

Highlights: During the 2026 Taikoo Li Sanlitun Light Festival, cutting-edge architectural lighting transforms the area into a dazzling, star-like spectacle. Installations such as "STELLAR" and "GEM" blend with Beijing's distinctive colors, bringing together commercial spaces, local culture, public art and high-end retail to create a dynamic world of light and shadow.

SOLANA

Dates: Through October 7

Locations: Exteriors of the main buildings in the commercial district, Eros Square and West Plaza

Highlights: The themed light show on the building facades runs daily from 18:30 to 22:00. On weekends and public holidays, live music performances and the Light-Chasing Night Run take place in the evening. Meanwhile, West Plaza hosts a market featuring goods from more than 30 independent creators. 

China World Mall

Dates: Through  October 11

Locations: Exteriors of the buildings at China World Trade Center, L6 Terrace and B2 Atrium at the North Zone of China World Mall 

Highlights: The light show on the building facades is staged every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Additional light shows and terrace music events will be offered during the National Day holiday.

Chaoyang Hopson One

Dates: Through October 31

Location: L1 South Plaza, Hopson One

Highlights: Step into a playful outdoor light-and-shadow park themed around the iconic B.Duck. POP MART's "Twinkle Twinkle"-themed facade installation also makes the site a popular photo spot for designer-toy fans and families.

Joy City Chaoyang 

Dates: Disney The Exhibition: A Century of Magic runs through March 31, 2027

Locations: Outdoor park at the rear plaza, public areas of the mall and F10

Highlights: Disney The Exhibition: A Century of Magic makes its China debut in Joy City Chaoyang. Curated by the Walt Disney Archives, the 5,000-square-meter immersive exhibition brings together beloved stories and characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and more.

THE BOX Chaowai

Dates: Through October 24 (pop-up events take place at different times)

Locations: Halls A and B, Dongyue Cultural Plaza and other areas

Highlights: The new "READY GO City Playground" experience is now open, bringing together pop-ups featuring Batman, SKZOO and more. Visitors can take photos, shop for limited-edition merchandise and explore newly opened stores. More surprises are to come.

Olympic Park's International Carb Festival

Dates: Through October 7

Locations: Central Axis Landscape Boulevard and the wooded areas west of Beijing Olympic Tower (north of Kehui South Road)

Highlights: The festival brings together more than 100 popular carb-based dishes, ranging from restaurant fare and street food to international flavors and regional specialties from across China. Main courses, snacks, desserts and beverages are all on offer. Admission is free, and visitors can enjoy the feast amid lights and music.
