Morning: Adventure at the Imperial Hunting Ground
01 Greet the Milu Deer (Best time: 9:00 – 10:30)
Route: Navigate to the North Gate Parking Lot of Nanhaizi Park (南海子公园北门停车场). Once inside, turn right, cross the stone bridge, and follow the reed boardwalk for 20 minutes to reach the Milu Deer Sanctuary.
02 Explore Imperial Landmarks
Head to Wangyuan Pavilion (望原亭) for a panoramic view of the wetlands. This spot is ideal for taking traditional Chinese-style photos amid serene surroundings.
Afternoon: Nature and Family Fun
01 Watch Birds and Take a Boat Ride
The wetlands, including Yanyinghai (雁影海) and Luminghai (鹿鸣海) lakes, are home to 149 bird species. Bring binoculars to watch grey herons fishing. Around 15:00, the soft natural light offers the best chance to take photos of reed marshes and water birds.
Pedal and electric boats are available at Luminghai. Drift on the tranquil lake while watching wild ducks swim and other water birds take flight—an incredibly soothing experience.

02 Have Fun at the Family Playground
The Koala 100 Family Playground (考拉100亲子乐园) has slides, climbing nets, and sand pits, promising hours of fun for young children. Also, a small train which passes slowly through woods and flower fields is always a hit with children.
03 Stroll Through Flower Fields and Enjoy a Picnic
Nanhaizi Park boasts open vistas and tranquil scenery with a unique wetland ecosystem that offers beautiful views in all four seasons. Set up a picnic by the lake, soak in the natural surroundings, and let the gentle breeze whisk your worries away.
Evening: "Ten Scenes of Ancient Beijing"
Nanyou Qiufeng offers spectacles exclusive to autumn. Expanses of vibrant autumn foliage and drifting snow-like reed plumes enrich the sunset views, making it a perfect photo-taking spot. September and October are the best periods to visit.

How to Get There
By Car: Navigate to the North Gate Parking Lot (南海子公园北门停车场) or South Gate Parking Lot of Nanhaizi Park (南海子公园南门停车场). Fast charging stations for electric vehicles are available.
By Public Transportation: Take Subway Line 8 to Demao Station and exit at B2; then transfer to Bus Xing 74 (Inner Loop) (兴74路内环) and get off at the Nanhaizigongyuandongmen (南海子公园东门) Stop. The park is just a 5-minute walk away.
Tips
1. The Milu Deer Sanctuary is closed on Tuesdays.
2. Wear comfortable sports shoes.
3. Hats, sunglasses and sunscreen are essential, as UV rays are strong near wetlands.
