First Come, First Served: Palace Museum to Offer Free Admission on July 27 with Real-Name Reservations

The Palace Museum will offer free admission on July 27, 2026 (Monday), scheduled to open from 8:30 to 17:00 (last entry at 16:00). This is to celebrate the second anniversary of the inscription of the Beijing Central Axis on the UNESCO's World Heritage List.

According to the museum, tickets must be booked with real-name information through its WeChat mini-program (故宫博物院). Reservations for general admission, the Gallery of Clocks and the Treasure Gallery can be made at 20:00 on July 24 and will remain available until no ticket is left.

Please note: On July 27, the ticket offices at Duanmen (the Gate of Correct Demeanor), the Treasure Gallery, and the Gallery of Clocks will be closed.
