On July 1, with the departure of the first train of the comprehensive upgrading project for the Beijing Suburban Railway Sub-Center Line (Beijing West Railway Station - Liangxiang section; the "Western Section" for short), the section has officially begun operation. The shortest travel time from Yamenkoudong Station to Beijing West Railway Station is merely 10 minutes, and the direct trip from Yamenkoudong Station to Qiaozhuangdong Station in Tongzhou takes 1 hour.

Passengers can take rides with their railway passenger tickets, urban transportation cards, and dedicated QR codes. Several other payment options are also supported.

The ticket from Yamenkoudong Station to Beijing West Railway Station and that to Qiaozhuangdong Station cost 4 yuan and 7 yuan, respectively.

Yamenkoudong Station is situated on the southwest side of the intersection of Lianshi East Road and Chongju Middle Street, Shijingshan District. Two station buildings (North and South) are constructed on either side of the railway tracks, sharing an 8-meter-wide underground passage leading to the platforms. The station adopts an "underground entry and underground exit" layout and is equipped with two platforms and four tracks.

There are six connecting bus routes serving the station, namely Dedicated No. 111, No. 472, No. 890, No. 951, No. 979 and Dedicated No. 46. Two station squares have been built outside the north and south station buildings, respectively, fitted with non-motor vehicle parking areas capable of holding more than 500 non-motor vehicles. A motor vehicle parking lot is built outside the south station building, offering 28 parking spaces along with barrier-free parking bays, which also serves as a temporary passenger pick-up zone.
