On June 11, the Beijing Zoo's administration office announced plans to relocate five of its giant pandas, including Meng Lan, to a new giant panda pavilion, where they will acclimate to their new surroundings. This move aims to provide better care and an enhanced exhibition environment for these pandas. During the relocation, the pandas will not meet the public.

Visitors can still see two pandas at the Asian Games Pavilion (亚运馆) and the Olympic Pavilion (奥运馆). Once the new pavilion is officially open, the zoo will resume displays and implement a rotational schedule for the pandas' care and enclosure.
