On April 18 and 19, the 2026 Yanqi Lake Spring Sailing Regatta (2026雁栖湖春季帆船赛) will take place in Yanqi Lake Scenic Area. It will feature two simultaneous competitions: the promotional race of the China Family Sailing Race (中国家庭帆船赛推广赛) and the weekend race of the CYA Youth Sailing League (全国青少年帆船联赛周末赛).

The China Family Sailing Race is China's only nationwide sailing event for families, with a focus on "sailing together as a family". The participating boat types are Omega (teams of 2-3) and Topaz (teams of 2).

The CYA Youth Sailing League is a flagship sailing event for China's teenage contestants, where top young sailors from across the country showcase their professional skills. The boat types include OP, Topper, and ILCA 4.

In addition to the races, there's more to discover and enjoy in Huairou.

The 13.14-km Yanqi Lake Greenway takes cyclists and walkers past iconic landmarks including the Sunrise Kempinski Hotel Beijing and Yanqi Pagoda, offering ample opportunities for the perfect snapshot.

Enjoy fresh greenery and vibrant lifeforms as you hike up the Western Hills trail. At the summit, you will be rewarded with a panoramic view of the rippling Yanqi Lake dotted with white sailing boats.

During the two days, the Beijing Yanqi Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center will host a non-stop ACG celebration, where you can interact with cosplayers, attend film and anime-themed concerts, and watch China-chic performances all day.

At 12:00 on both days, you can also enjoy free screenings of  "Boonie Bears: Guardian Code" and "I Am What I Am 2" at Qunsheng Courtyard (a restaurant) in Huairou Town, while savoring delicious local delicacies.

Best viewing times:

11:30 – 16:00 on April 18 (Saturday)

10:00 – 14:00 on April 19 (Sunday)

What to wear: The lakeside areas tend to be windy, with relatively strong UV radiation. So, remember to bring a windproof jacket and take sun protection measures.

Transport Guide:

If you plan to drive, navigate to the parking lots within Yanqi Lake Scenic Area, where parking spaces are ample. If you prefer public transport, take the Huairou-Miyun Line to Yanqi Lake Station, and then take a taxi to the scenic area.
