On March 17, a press conference was held on further enhancing the "Beijing Services" initiative to facilitate the quality development of enterprises in Beijing.
For financing issues concerned by enterprises, Beijing will provide targeted services to businesses at different stages of development by expanding financing for micro and small-sized enterprises, increasing credit loans for light-asset enterprises, guiding more venture capital institutions to invest in early-stage and small-scale projects, and improving listing and financing mechanisms.
Regarding innovation and entrepreneurship services for young, talented minds, this year, the city will also provide 1 million square meters of floor space for startups, along with 10,000 apartments for qualified talents to live in. The city will also encourage districts to offer transitional housing for job-seeking graduates, helping young graduates transition from campus life to their new journeys.
This year, Beijing will also focus on how to apply and commercialize sci-tech achievements. For this, there will be more due diligence and liability exemption mechanisms for commercialization of achievements of universities and research institutions, to reduce administrative burdens on researchers. A one-on-one service mechanism for universities and research institutes will also be developed to provide end-to-end support for research teams, bridging the "last mile" of integration among governments, industries, academia, research institutions, and end users. Efforts will also be made to expand the pool of technology managers and improve the efficiency of commercialization. In addition, Beijing will further promote the application of brand-new products and technologies to accelerate their entry into the market.
