Springtime Special: Explore Beijing by Boat on These Cruises!

As the weather warms up, it's the perfect time to enjoy a boat ride in Beijing. Here are some recommended boat trips:

Boating at Yuyuantan Park officially resumes today (March 14). The park has a total of four boat piers located on the north and south shores of the East Lake and West Lake respectively, making it easy for visitors to find a boat.

Boats operate daily from 8:30 to 17:30.

The Liangma River International Scenic Waterfront will reopen cruise trips on March 15. The night cruises are scheduled to depart from SOLANA Dock, followed by a 40-minute loop. The operator is offering early bird tickets at 35 yuan for daytime cruises and 90 yuan for evening cruises — nearly half the regular prices (50 yuan for daytime, 180 yuan for evening).

The Imperial Waterway also reopens today. This Qing Dynasty waterway runs from Beijing Zoo Dock to the Summer Palace, with a one-hour one-way journey priced at 120 yuan. Visitors can enter the Summer Palace directly from the waterway.

Daytime cruises on the Beijing section of the Grand Canal have already resumed, running from Dock No. 2 to the Caoyun Dock. The 12-kilometer journey passes through the Grand Canal Cultural Plaza and Grand Canal Olympic Park, with adult tickets priced at 75 yuan.

On March 21, the Chaobai River sightseeing boats will begin trial operations. To reach Dock No. 1 (Caoyun Dock), visitors can navigate to Gate 4 of Zone 2, Binhe Forest Park in Shunyi New Town, or simply search for "Chaobai River Caoyun Dock" (潮白河漕运码头) in a navigation app.

As spring approaches, the Summer Palace has also ushered in its boating and flower viewing season. The park's 19 docks and 11 routes are now fully open, with a total of 290 boats available, offering a wide range of boating experiences.

At Beihai Park, Chinese wild peach and winter jasmine flowers are blooming in succession, adding a gentle spring charm to the imperial garden. Boating on Taiye Lake, you will see the White Pagoda reflected in the rippling water, while red-walled pavilions stand amidst the blossoms, providing a uniquely Beijing-style spring.

At Taoranting Park, a variety of flowers are blooming in succession. Taking a boat ride on the lake allows visitors not only to enjoy the spring flowers along the shore but also to appreciate the unique charm of landmarks such as Taoran Pavilion, Fengyutongzhou Pavilion, and Mid-Lake Pavilion.

Zizhuyuan Park has also launched its spring boating and flower-viewing season. Fresh green willow branches line the lake, winter jasmine flowers are blooming in clusters, and plum blossoms in the Plum Valley release a subtle fragrance wafting through the air. The interplay of fresh greenery and vibrant blossoms creates a spectacle full of seasonal vitality.
