With the Lantern Festival (March 3) just around the corner, have you decided where to celebrate? This year's Lantern Festival events in Beijing are packed with highlights, and there's sure to be something that catches your interest! 


1st ZGC (Haidian) International Robot Industrial Park Tech Temple Fair

The temple fair started on February 27 and will run until March 3, open daily from 14:00 to 21:30 at Courtyard 69, Gulian Road, Wenquan Town, Haidian District. The fair features six themed sections: "Window to the Future" (未来之窗), "Intelligence Nexus" (星核智莲), "Dream of the Red Mansion" (红楼幻境), "Festival Night of Thousands of Lanterns" (上元千灯夜), "Gulian Lantern Celebration"(颂古莲闹元宵), and "WALK Market" (WALK市集). Visitors can interact with over 30 types of intelligent robots and experience multiple AI-powered immersive activities. 


Temple of Heaven

On the evening of March 3, the Temple of Heaven will stage an intangible cultural heritage (ICH) lantern performance. The event integrates eight types of ICH – including paper-cutting, lantern-making, and New Year paintings – into performers' costumes and lantern designs. Visitors can also participate in hands-on lantern-making workshops.


"Huayang Moshikou" Spring Festival Lantern Fair

Closely aligned with this year's zodiac sign (Horse), the lantern fair features 12 themed installations such as "Auspicious Horse Welcoming Spring" (瑞马迎春), "Good Fortune on the Way" (马上大桔), and "Modern Snowy Night" (摩登雪夜), displayed along Moshikou Street. On the Lantern Festival, there will be a lantern parade, bringing a unique festive experience to visitors.


Zizhuyuan Park

At 10:00 on March 3, Zizhuyuan Park will hold the "Blessings Fill Beijing, Spring Greets China" (福满京城 春贺神州) Lantern Festival event. At the event, there will be interactive games such as lantern riddle guessing, pitch-pot, and postcard rubbing, allowing visitors to experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture in a garden setting.


Shijingshan Academy

On March 3, the Shijingshan Academy will hold a Lantern Festival fair, featuring lantern riddle guessing, lantern making, and yuanxiao (sweet dumplings made with sticky rice flour filled with sweet stuffing) tasting, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere.
