As of December 31, 2025, the total number of exits and entries made by individuals through Beijing's exit-entry ports exceeded 21.4 million for the year, representing a year-on-year increase of 17.4 percent and marking a new high in passenger traffic at Beijing's ports since 2020.
Breakdowns of the annual total show particularly strong growth in foreign passenger volume. More than 6.5 million exit-entry trips (or 30.4 percent of the total) were made by foreign nationals through Beijing's ports, indicating a year-on-year increase of 34.5 percent. Specifically, over 2 million trips were made under visa-free and temporary entry permit policies, 1.9 times that of 2024, accounting for 60.8 percent of the total number of inbound trips by foreign visitors. The number of Chinese mainland residents entering and exiting the Chinese mainland via Beijing's ports also ascended steadily to over 1.38 million, a year-on-year increase of 10.6 percent, resulting from the rising demands for business travel, cross-border/boundary tourism, and more.
