On December 7, an "Easy Travel with Snow Gear" service was launched on a trial basis on the high-speed trains (whose numbers start with "G") running between stations on the Beijingbei (Beijing North)-Chongli section of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Intercity Railway. The service will be available till the end of the 2026 snow season.

In the second-class carriages of the G7831/2/3/4/5/6/7/8 trains, certain seating areas have been converted into dedicated "snow gear storage spaces" to meet passengers' needs. By using this service, skiers can travel with their snow gear in the same train, as long as the length, width, and height of their snow gear add up to no more than 200 centimeters. For snow gear pieces with total dimensions exceeding 200 centimeters, they still need to be checked in due to the limited space in the high-speed trains.

Passengers traveling with their snow gear may inquire about the service using the "Easy Travel with Snow Gear" (雪具便利行) function on the "Railway 12306" (铁路12306) app. After purchasing a ticket for any of the designated trains, passengers may book the "Easy Travel with Snow Gear" service on the page displayed later and make payment. Acceptance of new reservations stops 10 minutes before departure, and cancellations with full refunds are allowed one hour before departure.
 

After finishing the service booking online, snow gear can be brought onto the corresponding train and stored in the designated areas. This service enables passengers to travel with their snow gear.

After booking the service, passengers should pack their snow gear properly and carry it with them on the day of their travel, and go through the security check and verification channel marked with the "Easy Travel with Snow Gear" logo. At the same time, staff at the stations will check the passenger tickets, the orders, and whether the packaging of the gear meets the standard, before sticking labels on the snow gear. After boarding their train, passengers should put the snow gear in the nearby storage space under the train staff's guidance. During the journey, staff will conduct regular inspections to ensure that the equipment is being transported safely.

In the initial pilot phase, the "Easy Travel with Snow Gear" service costs 68 yuan per set. Passengers who have used the service may apply for an electronic receipt on the "Railway 12306" app within 180 days after their trip.

The "Snow Gear Express Delivery" service (雪具快运) will remain available during the trial period, giving travelers more options to choose from according to their own circumstances.
