2025 marks the 1,000th anniversary of the construction of the Yang Linggong Temple in Gubeikou Town. From November 1 to 5, Gubeikou Town will host the 33rd Great Wall Temple Fair under the theme "Ancient Great Wall Town, Thriving Culture and Tourism" (长城古镇 文旅兴业).

This year's fair will feature a range of traditional performances — from the "Ancient Charm of Gubeikou" folk parade and acrobatics to historical costume dramas, temple markets, and live shows such as "Eternal Gubeikou" frontier defense scenes, traditional medicine making, and harvest celebrations. It will also introduce a series of new immersive and interactive experiences, including the live-action performance "Defending Gubeikou" (保卫古北口), the Great Wall poetry event "A Millennial Watch" (千年的守望), a cultural and creative market, a Great Wall treasure hunt, and God of Wealth interactive activities — all creatively reviving the historic prosperity and vitality of Gubeikou's ancient border town.

What's a temple fair without delicious food? During the event, a "frontier feast culinary competition" will bring together talented chefs from Gubeikou's villages to showcase their finest dishes. Visitors are invited to join the fun and taste freshly prepared local specialties competing for the title of "Best Dish of Gubeikou".
