On the afternoon of June 30, a press conference on workplace safety and fire prevention in Beijing was held.
To implement the special campaign of "Optimizing Fire Services to Support Economic Development", the Beijing Municipal Fire and Rescue Bureau has established positive and negative lists for improving the business environment in terms of fire protection, with the positive list covering eight aspects.
1. No fire authority approval (or registration) is required when applying for registration or holding legally-compliant large-scale public events.
2. Business district (and shopping mall) management operators may organize promotional campaigns and outdoor events in compliance with laws and regulations without fire authority approval (or registration).
3. Public gathering venues whose floor areas are no larger than 300 square meters may operate without in-advance fire safety inspections. Fire authorities will conduct inspections after receiving applications voluntarily submitted by these venues.
4. Enterprises may refuse fire authority inspections that are not included in the official inspection plan or lack legal justification.
5. Fire authorities impose no restrictions on the use of open flames made with gas, fruitwood, charcoal or other sources, for culinary purposes or activities involving traditional craftsmanship.
6. Fire authorities do not prohibit the display, parking, or charging of new-energy electric vehicles in shopping malls, parking facilities, or similar areas.
7. Fire authorities designate liaison officers to coordinate with enterprises entitled to service packages and address their requests.
8. Fire authorities provide door-to-door fire safety technical guidance upon scheduled requests from enterprises and other institutions.
