From May 29 to June 1, the 2025 Beijing Chaoyang International Tea Culture Festival was held at the Beijing Juwangfu Hotel (main venue) and China Central Place, Beijing (sub-venue). The event offered an immersive celebration of tea culture, integrating tea tasting, traditional Chinese opera performances, in-person experiences, and consumption activities.
This year's festival featured dedicated exhibition areas showcasing exquisite handicrafts made through Beijing-style jade carving and filigree inlay, as well as those made through jingtailan (Chinese cloisonné enameling), traditional paper-cutting, and other techniques recognized as intangible cultural heritage items. The rich traditions and cultural heritage of different regions were showcased during the festival. In addition, "Chaoyoufan'er", a brand under Chaoyang Cultural Tourism, launched a collaboration with the festival's new official creative souvenirs, introducing tea-flavored zongzis (sticky rice dumplings), matcha ice cream, and lucky sachets, among others.
The Beijing Junwangfu Hotel, with its Qing Dynasty architectural style and classical garden features, is a culturally significant landmark near the Liangma River. During the festival, visitors could enjoy an immersive "Royal Tea Gathering", complemented by live performances of Beijing Opera, Yue Opera, and traditional Chinese music, among others. There were also experience activities featuring tea ceremonies and manufacturing of Yixing clay teapots, as well as thematic events like a pet-friendly garden fair and sunset-themed parties.
At the sunken garden of the Ritz-Carlton, Beijing located in China Central Place, many catering businesses, renowned tea brands, and new-style tea beverage companies hosted a tea market, offering specialty tea drinks, DIY tea beverages, and tea art performances, among others.
