According to the weather forecast by Beijing Meteorological Observatory, starting today, the capital's temperatures will rise above 30°C, with daytime highs expected around 32°C. Residents engaging in outdoor activities are advised to take sun protection measures and stay hydrated. Scattered thunderstorms are also anticipated in the mountainous areas this afternoon, and those traveling to these regions should have rain gear with them.

Meteorological authorities indicate that the temperatures this week will first rise and then drop, and residents are advised to stay updated on temperature forecasts and take measures for heatstroke prevention and cooling. Due to significant day-night temperature gaps, they are also advised to adjust clothing for outdoor activities. From May 27 to June 3, daytime highs are expected to linger between 26°C and 33°C, while nighttime lows will be from 18°C to 24°C.
Additionally, due to the frequent cold air masses from the north this year and the highly windy and rainy conditions earlier, the date of summer onset has been delayed for about one week this year compared with the previous years when the city entered summer around May 20. Starting today (May 27), Beijing's daily average temperature is expected to reach 22°C, marking the arrival of summer in this city.
The onset of spring this year fell on March 19, a week earlier than the average date (March 26). Based on this, Beijing's spring this year has already exceeded 60 days. Whether this length will reach 70 days depends on future weather development. It is reported that the longest spring in recent years occurred in 2020, which lasted for 70 days.
